For about 3 hours of hiking in the forest, you will enjoy the diversity in here: eight different habitats. Hikers will see the rich and varied vegetation. There are approximately 500 species of trees in the park, for example the giant mahogany reaches about 80 feet high, strangler fig trees, and unusual Garlic tree. A variety of birds can be found in here, over 360 types of birds. The park protects the largest population of limpets in the country. Commonly there are green parrots, hawks, kites, and a large variety of hummingbirds. During the hike you can see the four kinds of monkeys: howler monkeys, white-faced monkeys, spider monkeys, and squirrel monkeys.
Another option at Corcovado park, for those most adventurous travelers, and with good physical condition. All types of birds are numerous along the river banks: sea birds, birds of the field. Lunch is taken in the forest, near the river. Normally there are biologists at the ranger station because this section of the park is excellent for scientific study. In the boat trip , back to the hotel, you will see the famous waterfall called Llorona, which falls directly on the beach. (This area was presented in a special recording for National Geographic: Wild Shores of the world’s coasts).
