From San José to Sierpe – Drake Bay

You can choose between the road Inter (San Isidro) and the new road along the coast (for Quepos / Dominical) and go to Palmar Norte. After the bridge over the river Terraba turn right, go by banana plantations and palm oil are coming to the village of Sierpe (time approx. 5 hours). In Sierpe can park your car in one of the local parking and continue their journey by boat to Drake Bay.

By Bus
Near to the MOPT located in San Jose Downtown, you can find “TRACOPA” who travel daily to the south. You must buy the ticket to Palmar Norte the previous day. If you want to get to Drake Bay on the same day, take the bus from 5 am, which reaches about Palmar Norte. at 11.00 a.m. (duration approx. 5-6 hours). In Palmar Norte take a taxi to Sierpe (time approx. 18 minutes). In Sierpe find boats to Drake Bay. Be aware that they have to arrive at Sierpe Before 11:30 am to take the boat on time.

By Plane
National airlines “SANSA” (International Airport) and “NATUREAIR (of the regional airport Pavas) fly daily to Drake Bay and Palmar Sur (duration approx. 45 minutes). Then take a taxi from the airport to the hotel. You can buy your airline ticket easily over the Internet on sites in the aeroilineas www.flysansa.com and www.natureair.com. From Sierpe to Drake Bay

The journey by boat to Sierpe Drake Bay takes about 1 hour. Navigating on the river Sierpe contemplating mangroves and observing birds and crocodiles. After 45 minutes of travel, crossing the mouth of the river and continue by sea, near the coast, for 20 minutes, arriving at the beach “from drake.” Warning: Your feets gonna be wet when you off the boat!
Our hotel is located 100 meters from the beach, but we have to warn in advance to pick them to go to the beach.
